Last week’s 3D printing included these tactile models for the London Science Museum. We last made these 2 years ago, the first batch are on permanent exhibition at the new Wellcome Medical Galleries. These new ones are backups. There is a trepanned skull, a heart, a phrenology head and a myoglobin molecule.
Day 1 of our new project blog
We have been involved in many fascinating projects, over 200 in fact over the last 5 years but we rarely document them except an occasional Tweet so today we will address this by starting a weekly blog as a project diary.
This week we shipped a torso to the Fitzwilliam Museum in Cambridge. He is a scaled down replica of the Dionysos of Samos created as a tactile exhibit. He was manufactured from a 3D print, then moulded and cast in a composite containing real marble and then spray painted to create an aged effect.
