Ram of Amun with King Taharqa from the Ashmolean Museum
Ram of Amun with King Taharqa from the Ashmolean Museum
A scaled replica of the Ram of Amun protecting the 25th dynasty, black pharaoh Taharqa.
Taharqa was one of the later dynasties greatest kings, building extensively throughout present day Egypt and Sudan including at Karnak and Kawa.
This replica is based on the original ram in the Ashmolean Museum which is one of three rams found in the ruins of the Temple of Kawa in Sudan. The other two reside at the British Museum and at the National Museum of Sudan.
This replica was created in cooperation with the Ashmolean Museum who receive a funding contribution for every sculpture sold. It was created digitally from a 3D photogrammetry scan of the original. The very large crack across the back of the original was digitally repaired before the physical product was produced by 3D printing a master sculpture and moulding and casting the replicas with stone composite material. Every ThinkSee3D sculpture is hand made and finished.
ThinkSee3D will make a small contribution to UNICEF Sudan for every ram sold.
